Lumary AH - This article explains how to cancel an allied health appointment.
If your organisation or a client needs to cancel an appointment, you can cancel the appointment from the session record. The system will keep a record of the cancelled appointment, including details about when and why it was cancelled. If you need to remove an appointment without keeping a record, check out our article that explains how to delete an appointment.
If a client has cancelled and you may be eligible to claim a short-notice cancellation from the NDIA, the steps are slightly different. Find out how to cancel an appointment for NDIS claiming.
To cancel an appointment:
- Go to the appointment. You can get there -
-
- from the Appointment Scheduler tab
- by clicking the View/Add Appointment button on a client's or worker's record, or
- from your My Day View.
-
- If you clicked the appointment in a calendar, you'll need to click on the name of the appointment using the text link at the top of the summary panel. This will open a session record for the appointment.
- Click the Cancel Appointment button.
- On the Cancel Appointment popup screen, select Client or Worker as the reason that the appointment was cancelled.
- Click on the Next button.
- If the appointment was for a group of clients, you'll need to select which client has cancelled. Then click on the Next button.
- The Cancellation Date & Time fields fields will default to the current date and time. To edit, click in the required field and use the calendar or clock functions to change the details.
- Click on the Reason field and select an option from the drop-down list.
The list of reasons available will depend on your organisation's policies.
- If required, click in the Cancellation Notes field and add details of the cancellation.
- Click on the Next button.
- If there is a cancellation charge involved, you'll see a summary of the cancellation, including the reason and the amount of the charge.
- Click on the Confirm button to confirm the cancellation.
If a client cancelled, the status of their appointment will change to Cancelled. If the worker cancelled, the status of the worker appointment and the session record will change to Cancelled.
