This article provides an introduction to claiming funds from funding bodies using extracts, integrating with financial packages and using carts to generate invoices.
Lumary provides a range of options for using service delivered (SD) records to claim funding, invoice for payment and/or meet reporting requirements. The system can be used to:
- create an extract and submit it to a funding body, such as the NDIA, DSS or DVA
- create an extract and load it into a financial package, such as MYOB or Xero, or
- create a cart and use it to generate an invoice.
Create an extract and submit it to a funding body
Creating an extract (EXT) is a way of retrieving data from relevant records and putting it into a file format that can be submitted to a funding body to claim funds. Extracts use SD records to create extract items (EXI). They include all of the information required for a claim to be processed and to ensure that it complies with the funding body's reporting requirements.
When an SD record is included in an extract, it is updated with the EXI record number to prevent it from being extracted again.

Create an extract and load it into a financial package
The Financial Extract type can be used to share information with financial packages like MYOB or Xero. As with other extracts, financial extracts use SD records to create extract items (EXI). They include information that corresponds to the requirements of the relevant financial package.
When an SD record is included in a financial extract, it is updated with the EXI record number to prevent it from being extracted again.

Create a cart and use it to generate an invoice
Clients or participants may have arrangements where they pay for services out of their own pocket, or via a nominee or plan manager. If you're not using a financial package to manage these payments, you can use the cart to generate invoices and keep track of payments.
