This article explains what to do if there's a delay between the effective date of an NDIS pricing update and the date the updated rates and services become available.
While Lumary strives to make NDIS pricing updates available from their effective date, this is not always feasible. The process of developing and testing changes required to support pricing updates is complex and time consuming. This can be further complicated if the NDIA:
- releases the rates close to, or after, the effective date, or
- makes additional changes to the pricing arrangements or support catalogue during the development and testing process.
Deliver but don't extract
If updated rates are unavailable on the effective date, we recommend providers:
- continue to deliver services and create service delivered (SD) records as usual, and
- do not create NDIS or financial extracts until the update is made available.
Extracts generated AFTER the effective date but BEFORE the rates are updated in an environment will use the previous version of the pricing arrangements and limits. This will mean participant funds will be claimed using the older rates.
What happens after rates are deployed?
Once Lumary deploys updated rates, we'll also update all SD records for services delivered on or after the effective date of the updated pricing. These records will be updated to the new rates. This can only be done for SD records that have not already been extracted.
We'll let you know when these records are ready to extract.
You can stay up-to-date on our progress during a pricing update by checking out and following the NDIS pricing update status page.
