NDIS funding
Overview
To assist providers claiming and managing NDIS funding, we’ve:
- improved funding management in service agreements
- added a new SD Summary Report, and
- improved supported independent living (SIL) claiming.
Funding management in service agreements
This release gives providers more flexible options for managing funding changes:
- throughout the lifecycle of a service agreement, and
- between service agreements.
Providers will now be able to start delivering services from an agreement and continue to make funding changes up until they begin claiming and/or invoicing for services.
For financial extracts, this feature checks the value in the Financial Extract field on the SD record. If you're using custom fields to store extract information on SD records, they won't be considered extracted when checked as part of this feature. You'll need to raise a ticket with our Customer Success team to get help setting up your SD records to support this feature.
Transfer SD
We've improved the Transfer SD feature to support the rerouting of billing. Users can now move SD records between service agreements that have different funding management.
This feature does not allow the transfer of extracted SD records, including in environments set up to allow this type of transfer. This is to ensure that you make any necessary adjustments to your financial system before changing funding management.
If you need to transfer extracted SD records to an agreement with different funding management:
- review the extracted SD records and make any necessary credits or adjustments in your financial system or the NDIS myplace provider portal, and
- unlink the extracted SD record.
Once you've unlinked the record, you'll be able to transfer it to the new agreement.
SD Summary Report
We’ve added a new SD Summary Report. With a single click from the NDIS or Other service agreement, users can access a report that paints a picture of the agreement’s billing history.
This will make it easier to manage the impact of funding changes by clearly showing:
- what’s been claimed and paid, and
- what’s still unpaid.
Providers can add additional columns to the report, but must not delete or rename it, or amend filters in the Edit Report screen. Deleting or renaming the report could break the connection to the service agreement functionality. Amending filters could affect the quality or accuracy of the data shown.
Users require advanced level access to view the report. To make the report available to advanced users, a system administrator will also need to either:
- share the Lumary reports folder with them, or
- move the report to a folder that they can access.
SD records are grouped by funding management and sorted in ascending date order. SD records can be filtered by changing the date settings in the filter panel.
Users can launch the report using the SD Summary Report button from NDIS or Other service agreements.
Supported independent living (SIL) claiming
We’ve improved SIL claiming to meet a recent NDIS compliance change. This will enable providers to accurately claim for weekly SIL services.
We’ve updated the NDIS extract so that the Support Delivered To field in the CSV auto-populates with an accurate end date for SIL services with a unit of measure of weekly. This will ensure that claims reflect the full week long length of the service provided to the participant.
The dates will be calculated by counting back from the date of the service delivered (SD) record. This means that:
- the Support Delivered To field will be populated with the date of the SD record, and
- the Support Delivered From field will be populated with a date 7 days earlier than the date of the SD record.
Providers should set up recurring schedules for a SIL weekly service to begin at least 7 days after the service agreement’s start date. This will ensure that the service’s delivery dates fall within the agreement’s current period.

Home Care Packages (HCP) funding
Overview
To assist providers managing HCP funding, we’ve improved:
We also deployed rates for the 20th September 2022 Schedule of Fees and Charges for Residential and Home Care.
Daily government transactions
We’ve updated the automatic process that calculates the daily government transactions, aimed at simplifying financial management and helping to support Quarterly Financial Report (QFR) and Aged Care Financial Report (ACFR) data requirements. The process will now:
- run daily rather than monthly, and
- display the subsidy, supplements and care reductions separately.
Journal entries
The changes that we’ve made to the daily government transaction process also adds additional details to HCP journal entries as follows:
- expense categorisation/service categories
- unit price
- quantity, and
- funding source item.
We’ve also improved functionality around journal entries so that case managers can update entries with the date that the journal entry was paid by the client and have this information displayed on the monthly statement.
Monthly statement PDF
We’re in the process of making changes to monthly client statements that will align with government best practice recommendations and regulations and make it easier for clients to understand their statements. These changes include a new PDF template in Formstack that will provide additional information and show how the unspent funds have been split into:
- the Commonwealth portion of provider-held funds
- the care recipient’s portion of provider-held funds, and
- the Home Care Account balance.
Please raise a ticket with our Customer Success team or reach out to your Client Outcomes Manager to find out more about implementation for your organisation.
Schedule of Fees and Charges for Residential and Home Care
During this release cycle, the new Schedule of Fees and Charges for Residential and Home Care from 20 September 2022 came into effect. For providers with HCP funding functionality, the updated rates were made available in their production environment from 20 September 2022.
Additional improvements and fixes
Overview
This release also includes improvements to support CHSP funding.
CHSP funding
We’ve made updates to improve and simplify the options for CHSP-funded providers who are managing client contributions. This includes:
- adding the ability to create separate SD records to bill the client contribution
- being able to view the client contributions in the financial description of the financial extract
- improved DEX functionality to support reporting the client contribution, and
- enhanced functionality to support discounts and the waiving of costs for clients.

Overview
Following the release of Lumary 19, there were several minor releases to address minor or urgent issues. These were applied to affected environments as they became available. The releases are listed in reverse date order, from most recent to earliest:
- minor release 6
- minor release 5
- minor release 4
- minor release 3
- minor release 2, and
- minor release 1.
Lumary 19 minor release 6
Date available: 1 September 2022
Version: 19.3.24
This release provides fixes and improvements to home care package (HCP) monthly extracts and service agreement item components.
Fixes and improvements in this minor release mean that:
- when creating an HCP monthly extract, extract items won't be generated for a month outside of the service agreement start date when you switch different extract date ranges simultaneously during this process
- filtering by Site Name is now working correctly in HCP monthly extracts, and
- when editing an HCP service agreement item, the rates are now displaying alphabetically.
Lumary 19 minor release 5
Date available: 4 August 2022
Version: 19.3.19
This release provides fixes and improvements to improve the stability of service delivered (SD) record creation. It resolves a "row locking" issue that was impacting the creation of SD records in some environments.
Lumary 19 minor release 4
Date available: 21 July 2022
Version: 19.3.18
Fixes and improvements in this minor release mean that:
- block service agreements can now include up to 500 service line items without causing issues. Each category on the agreement is also counted as an additional item in this total, and
- easyemployer leave requests made from a worker record will no longer generate multiple leave events.
We’ve also improved permission checking so that users with less common types of licences can perform expected actions within the system.
This minor release also includes updates to support the revised short notice cancellation rules in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Support Catalogue - effective 1 July 2022.
Lumary 19 minor release 3
Date available: 1 July 2022
Version: 19.3.13
This minor release deploys the 1st July 2022 Schedule of Subsidies and Supplements for Aged Care rates.
Lumary 19 minor release 2
Date available: 31 May 2022
Version: 19.3.6
Fixes and improvements in this minor release mean that:
- HCP Fixed Cost Bot batches will no longer cause an 'exceeds heap limit' error. To avoid this error, the batch size has been set to 1
- HCP subsidy cost calculations now apply rounding to the daily rate before multiplying the rate by the number of days in the month. This improves the accuracy of calculations for client leave that exceeds 28 days, and
- when editing a service agreement, the end date will no longer be overwritten when a user accidentally tries to enter a client approval date in the Cancellation Date field.
Lumary 19 minor release 1
Date available: 27 May 2022
Version: 19.3.5
Fixes and improvements in this minor release mean that:
- service agreement items (SAIs) that do not have an associated recurrence record can now be edited
- rounding for leave calculations in Home Care Packages (HCP) funding is working correctly
- funding schedules that run in batches overnight will generate service delivered (SD) records
- planned services on the Beds Calendar where the billing method is set to Post-Charge will now generate SD records on the day following service delivery instead of on the same day, and
- if custom fields are added to the Session object's field set, the Save button will still appear when a session is created from the client record.
