This article explains how to personalise your Lumary user profile with a photo, blurb and other details.
The user account that you log in with includes a profile section that you can personalise. You can add things like a profile photo, a short blurb about yourself, and a banner image.
Your user profile photo is shown alongside your activity in the system.
Other people can view your user profile in full by clicking on your image or the text link of your user name anywhere they're shown in the system.
In this article, find out how to:
- open your profile
- add a profile photo
- add an About Me blurb
- add a banner image, and
- edit other details.
Open your user profile
- Click on the user profile thumbnail in the top right corner of screen. When you first start using Lumary, this will show the default cartoon avatar.
- Click on the image or your username to open your user profile.
Add a profile photo
- Next to the placeholder profile image, click on the camera icon, then select Update Photo.
- Click on the Upload Image button, then find and open your image file from where it's saved on your device.
- Adjust the size and position of the image to fit within the thumbnail circle.
- The Show my photo on publicly accessible pages checkbox is unticked by default. This option makes the photo visible to guest users viewing publicly accessible sites or pages that don’t require login. We recommend leaving it unticked.
- Click on the Save button.
Add an About Me blurb
- Next to the placeholder blurb (you may see a book image and placeholder text), click on the pencil icon.
- Type in a short blurb about yourself.
- Click on the Save button.
For best results, use a panoramic image that is at least 1280x300 pixels.
- In the bottom right corner of the banner image placeholder, click on the camera icon.
- Click on the Select an Image button, then find and open your banner image file from where it's saved on your device.
- Adjust the size and position of the image to fit within the banner borders.
- Click on the Save button.
Edit other details
Below your profile image and blurb, you'll see a Details section with a summary of your key information.
Where there is already information in these fields, it's because your system administrator entered this when they created your user account.
We don't recommend editing these fields, because some of them are linked to important functions in the system like logging in and multifactor authentication verification. If you edit any of these, you may break something important! If something isn't right, it's best to contact your system administrator to update the information.
