This article explains how to add, view, edit and print case notes for a client.
You can use Lumary to capture case notes related to interactions or appointments with a client. These case notes can be either activity notes or clinical notes.
The process for aged care clients is different. See this article on adding a case note for an aged care client.

Add a case note
To add a case note:
- Click on the Contacts tab and select the client who you wish to add a case note for.
- On the top right hand side, choose New Activity Note or New Clinical Note.
- Enter a title and description.
- If you need to add the client's Service Agreement, click in the Service Agreement field and select the relevant one from the list (you may need to do a search if you can't see it).
- Click the Save button.
View a case note
To view a case note:
- Click on the Contacts tab and select the client who you wish to view the case note for.
- Click on the Assessments tab. The Case Notes section should be at the top of the page.
- Click on the title of a case note to view further details.
- If you can't see the case note that you’re looking for, click View All to see the full list of notes.
- On the View all screen, if the description is cut off you can click the drop down arrow at the top of the column and select Wrap Text to see all the contents of the field.
Edit a case note
To edit a case note:
- Click on the Contacts tab and select the client who you wish to edit the case note for.
- Click on the Assessments tab. The Case Notes section should be at the top of the page.
- Click on the down arrow at the end of the case note row and select Edit. You can also delete case notes by selecting the Delete option.
- On the Edit screen, make the necessary changes and then click the Save button.
Print a case note
To print a case note:
- Click on the Contacts tab and select the client who you wish to edit the case note for.
- Click on the Assessments tab. The Case Notes section should be at the top of the page.
- Click on the title of the case note you wish to print.
- Click on the drop-down arrow at the top of the page and select Printable View.
- This will open a new tab or window with the case note in a printable format.
- Click on Print This Page in the top right corner of the screen or use your browser's print function. This will open a print dialogue that you can use to send the case note to your printer.
- Once you've printed the case note, close the tab or Window, or use the Close Window link to return to your client's record.
