This article explains how to set a reduced notice period for NDIS cancellation claims.
The Cancellation Claim Notice Period field on service records captures the number of days within which NDIS cancellations can be claimed. It is:
- restricted to the current maximum of 7 days for any service that allows cancellation claiming, and
- set up to only accept whole numbers. Decimals will be rounded up or down to the nearest whole number.
Required packages and permissions
Available with: Lumary 21 minor release 5 and later
Permission: System administrator
Lumary has set this field based on the NDIS support catalogue. However, providers may prefer to set a more lenient cancellation claiming period.
While a system administrator can edit the field directly on individual service records, there are more than 100 rates that allow cancellation claims in the 7 day period. We recommend creating a new list view for services to change notice periods. This enables the updating of multiple services in a single process.
If you're not confident updating multiple services, reach out to our Customer Success team for support.
This article explains how to:
- create a new list view for short notice cancellations
- apply filters to identify the period you're changing, and
- edit all of the items on the list.
Create a new list view
To get started, create a new list view for NDIS short notice cancellation services.
- Click on the Services tab. You may need to click on the App Launcher nine dot icon and search for Services.
Make sure you select the Services option from the Items list in the App Launcher. A search may also list Service under Apps. The app is not the option you're looking for.
- This will open the Services list view.
- Click on the List View Controls cog icon.
- Select New.
- Enter a name in the List Name field, for example, NDIS short notice cancellation services.
- The List API Name will auto-fill based on the list name.
- If other users will need to see this list, select a Who sees this list view? option.
- Click on the Save button. This will create a new list view.
- Click on the List View Controls cog icon again.
- Click on Select Fields to Display.
- In the Available Fields list, click on Cancellation Claim Notice Period.
- Click on the right arrow to add Cancellation Claim Notice Period to the Visible Fields list.
- Click on the Save button.
Apply filters
Next, you'll need to add some filters.
- Click on the Show Filters icon to open a list of filters.
- Click on the Add Filter text link.
Make the following selections:
Field name | Setting |
Field | Record Type |
Operator | equals |
Value | NDIS |
- Click on the Done button.
- Click on the Add Filter text link again.
Make the following selections:
Field name | Setting |
Field | Cancellation Claim Notice Period |
Operator | equals |
Value | 2 or 7 (depending on which claim period you're changing) |
- Click on the Done button.
Edit all items
This should show a list of services with the corresponding Cancellation Claim Notice Period. Now you can update all of the filtered items.
- If there are more than 50 items, the list's item count will be 50+ items. Scroll down to the end of the list until the item count no longer shows a plus sign.
- Click in the checkbox in the heading row to select all items.
- Click on the pencil icon next to the first item on the list.
- Change the number to the new notice period. This will need to be less than 7. If you're changing the period for 2 day cancellations, the number will need to be less than 2.
- Put a tick in the Update n selected items checkbox.
- Click on the Apply button.
- All items on the list should now show the new notice period. Click on the Save button.
If you're changing the notice period for both types of short notice cancellation, you can use the same list view. Change the Cancellation Notice Period filter to show the current duration of the period you want to change.
