This article provides an overview on how Lumary can structure an Outlet Activity for programs reported through the Department of Social Services’ (DSS) Data Exchange (DEX).
To ensure your DEX extracts are properly created and lead to successful claims, you need to set your Outlet Activities contained in the your organisation activity and outlets data file from DSS. The Outlet Activity ID is an unique identifier based on:
- The Outlet where the service is delivered, and
- The Program activity that the service is delivered under.

For a more detailed look at how DEX XML maps to fields and objects in Lumary, check out the DEX XML mapping article.
The Outlet Activity ID populates the OutletActivityId field under the Case Node in the DEX XML. You'll need to add an Outlet Activity ID to successfully create a DEX extract.
To setup an Outlet Activity ID, there are two options, you can either:
- Enter the Outlet Activity ID in the Additional Information section when you create a block service agreement, or
- Enter the Outlet Activity ID when you create a Site Service / Program. This will allow you to add multiple Outlet Activities to a single service agreement so that this information can be extracted for DEX reporting.
To ensure each Case ID within the DEX Extract is unique, when the Outlet Activity ID is set on the Site Service / Program the Case ID will include the Outlet Activity ID at the end of the text.
For example FSCC-000100_12345
or SAI-00003547_12345
