This article explains how to view the details of a home care package (HCP) client's budget.
The Package Overview is a tool that you can use to view information about an HCP client's current and projected package balances. The overview of the client's budget can help you to gain insights into how, where and when their funds are being spent.
The Package Overview tab will only be visible on a client's contact record if you have already added their HCP level.
To access the package overview, click on the Package Overview tab in a client's contact record. The two main screens to view are the:

Current balance screen
On this screen you can:
- view the number of days remaining in the claim period
- toggle between the view of the current month and the previous month
- click on the View links to access more information about transactions associated with a service item
- click on > Budget Summary to toggle between the view of the package summary and the budget summary, and
- view the budget summary, which includes the subsidies, supplements and fees that make up the client's package funding.
Projected balance screen
On this screen you can:
- view the number of days remaining in the claim period
- view the projected amount and utilisation of unspent funds
- view projected leave balances by type (hospital, transition, respite and social)
- view service transactions organised by category and use the arrows to toggle between categories, and
- view transaction categories as a percentage of current services delivered.
